Within the Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) program, you’ll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to provide behavioral health and wellness services to employees of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS), including law enforcement officers.
Under the supervision of the EHW Chief Psychologist, you will:
Aid employees in navigating professional and personal difficulties; provide referrals and information for community and online resources; conduct crisis interventions and take appropriate action as necessary
Participate in development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of new Employee Health and Wellness programs and the enhancement of existing programs
Research, prepare reports, and lead special projects related to behavioral wellness
Collaborate with community partners and resources to develop and maintain adequate support network for employees; develop health interventions
Statewide travel, sometimes with short notice
While a valid California Clinical Social Worker license is required, the ideal candidate will also have:
Knowledge of current trends in mental health, public health and welfare, as well as applicable Federal/State programs
Understanding of community organization principles; scope and activities of public and private health and welfare agencies
This opportunity is available at CDCR’s headquarters office in downtown Sacramento. During the COVID-19 state of emergency, Telework options will be provided based on operational availability. In addition, hiring interviews will be available virtually using teleconferencing or video conferencing options.
